China has
51.28 lakh millionaires, compared to India’s 8.71 lakh
A report by Mercedes-Benz and Hurun India states
that the number of Indians with $1 million, or about Rs. 8.5 crore, has doubled
since 2021, increasing from 4.58 lakh to 8.71 lakh in 2025.
The report also noted that over the next decade,
this figure could reach 17 to 20 lakh people.
Tamil Nadu 72,600 millionaires..!
According to the report, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Tamil Nadu are the top three states in
terms of millionaire populations, with 1.78 lakh, 79,800, and 72,600
millionaires, respectively.
For Maharashtra, the report highlighted a 194%
growth in the number of millionaires since 2021, attributing this trend to the
state’s entrepreneurial spirit, financial capital and the growing number of
corporates.
For Delhi, the report noted that the capital’s
status as a political and commercial center attracts wealth.
Tamil Nadu’s rise has been linked
to the state’s increase in number of companies, establishing it as an
industrial hub.
Karnataka and Gujarat complete the top five, with
68,800 and 68,300 millionaires, respectively.
