Rs. 15,260 crore allocated to Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
Rs. 1,400 crore provided for setting-up of water purification plants in 2000 arsenic
- and 12000 fluoride-affected rural habitations.
Rural Development
Allocation of Rs. 80,194 crore in 2013-14 for Ministry of Rural Development
marking an increase of 46% over RE 2012-13.
Proposal to carve out PMGSY-II and allocate a portion of the funds to the new
programme that will benefit States such as Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka,
Maharashtra, Punjab and Rajasthan.
JNNURM
Rs. 14,873 crore for JNNURM in BE 13-14 as against RE of Rs. 7,383 crore. Out of this, a significant portion will be used to support the purchase of upto 10,000
buses, especially by the hill States.
