SIF is the brand-new entry in the product list offered in the Indian financial landscape. It involves relatively higher risk including potential loss of capital, liquidity risk and market volatility.

Minimum investment amount is at least Rs 10 lakh.

SIFs can take exposure in permissible exchange-traded derivatives for up to 25% of their net assets, not just for hedging and portfolio rebalancing but also for broader investment purposes.
