Anyone of the
investor can close the demat account by submitting a Account Closure Form duly
executed by him / her.
If any
shares are in the demat account, he / she can either opt to sell the shares in
the market & take the sale proceeds in to his / her bank account or / submit a
request to Re -materialise the shares in physical form.
The demat
account can be closed only when the shares are emptied in the account.
