Handing over the offers to the selected candidate the participated companies said FLAG by Employability Bridge is a one stop-shop for our recruitments. It also communicates that good candidates were spread across and not just only in well established institutions.
Emmanuel Justus, CEO, EmployabilityBridge addressing the students
Commenting on the program Emmanuel Justus, CEO, EmployabilityBridge said that “FLAG is a series of intelligent graduate hiring events offered by Employability Bridge in association with CII to ease the hiring process for the leading corporate and they were able to meet students from 20 colleges from smaller cities across the state. We were delighted to see the eligible candidates from smaller cities get access to opportunities with some of the India’s leading companies. We appreciate the interest by the companies and colleges for FLAG.”

From the series of FLAG events and considering the various eligibility criteria that core companies look for from the candidates participating we noticed that the industry employable ratio is between 30-34%. And we are trying to make this 40% by bringing more core and allied companies. Pre-interview counseling by EmployabilityBridge and with our government’s ‘Make in India’ program will increase the employable probabilities and helps achieving our 40% ratio, he added.

Mr. Satyanarayanan, Director & Head of Education-Southern Region, CII said “In India 70% of colleges is located in tier II & III cities and Tamilnadu is known for its quality education. The colleges with good infrastructure facilities attract students not only from Tamilnadu but also from states across India. It gives out many technically qualified candidates to the society every year. But due to lack of awareness both among the students on job availability and among the companies about these institutions from smaller cities the good opportunities were missed. But events like FLAG play an important role in bridging the gap and empowering the students.”
Ambalavanan, CTO, EmployabilityBridge said “EmployabilityBridge plays a critical pivotal role in the entire job ecosystem by exposing students with opportunities available across multiple industries – IT, Manufacturing, Engineering, Servicing, ITES, Automotive, Electronics etc. These opportunities are not only available with MNC’s but also with mid size companies, SME’s, startup etc. Pre-counseling and processes before meeting the companies by FLAG helps the students to identify their skills and get good opportunity.”

HR heads of the companies participated said that “companies are looking for candidates with technical knowledge and other employable skill-sets. Geography is not a restriction. Corporate prefer going to well established colleges as the probability of getting the right candidates are more. But this should not restrict the opportunities to the right candidates from the tier-2/tier-3 city colleges. We are enthused with the skills demonstrated by the students during the interview. The average engagement period of the candidate from smaller cities with the company is also high.”
Vinoth Kumar, a student from a college at Thoothukudi said “I was apprehensive about job after studies. But I am glad I got an offer through FLAG. FLAG is a boon for students like me studying in colleges from smaller cities with limited access to companies beyond our locality.”
EmployabilityBridge will hold its next FLAG event in November at SSM Institute of Engineering and Technology, Trichy.
