Philips illuminates landmarks using LED technology for Breast Cancer Awareness Month..

To mark the Breast Cancer Awareness month, Philips Lighting spreads the pink light to HCL, Cognizant Technologies, Prestige Forum Mall, Ispahani Centre to raise awareness about the importance of breast health and early detection to millions worldwide.

These landmarks, along with numerous others that will be lit in pink hues worldwide, join together as part of The Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign’s Global Landmark Illuminations Initiative and stand as symbols of hope and empowerment, encouraging all to “Connect. Communicate. Conquer. For a Future Free of Breast Cancer.”

“We are very proud to partner with this campaign and to promote Breast Cancer Awareness to people across the world. Philips Lighting continues to create innovative lighting solutions to enhance the life and well being of the people all over the world. We have joined this fight by doing what we do best: using the power of light to raise awareness and let people know that early detection of breast cancer can save lives”, said Mr. Sumit Joshi, Sr. Director, Marketing, Philips Lighting India.

As part of its program to raise awareness for the importance of early detection, Philips has used its innovative colored LEDs to light up landmarks around the world in eye-catching pink, in a global relay throughout the month of October.

“At HCL, we have always maintained that good health is the key to a happy and fulfilled life. Statistics show that each year nearly 1 lakh women in India are affected by breast cancer. The number of people being diagnosed with breast cancer is increasing, but we also know that survival rates are improving. Therefore on the occasion of National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, we are happy to partner with Philips Lighting to create awareness on breast cancer among our employees. Through this initiative, we hope that people are aware of the cause and symptoms of the disease and are thus able to take preventive measures at an early stage” said, Srimathi Shivashankar, Principal Diversity & Sustainability, and HCL Technologies.

The other landmarks to be lighted up in pink colour in India include Brigade Gateway, World Trade Center in Bangalore and Ambience Mall, Vatika Towers in Delhi-NCR.
