Weal Academy: Children
Create a World Record Through a Finance Talkathon
In
today’s world, education is no longer limited to textbook knowledge alone.
Understanding how to earn, save, spend, and invest money has become an
essential life skill that children should begin learning at a young age.

A World Record Through Financial Conversations
Keeping
this in mind, Chennai-based Weal Academy organized a large-scale Finance
Talkathon for children in an attempt to set a world record.
The
primary objective of the event was to help children understand the value of
money from an early age and develop responsible financial habits. At the same
time, participating in a world record attempt became a memorable and inspiring
experience for the young participants. The event not only enhanced their
financial awareness but also provided a valuable platform to improve their
public speaking skills and self-confidence.

Recognized by Lionize World Records
The
achievement was officially recognized by Lionize World Records. The
organization’s Chairman, Mathan Chandrasekar, attended the event and
presented certificates to the participants.
According
to S. Karthikeyan, Founder of Weal Academy and Win Worth Wealth, the
event offered children several valuable benefits, including the confidence to
speak on stage, the rare opportunity to participate in a world record attempt,
a platform to communicate financial knowledge in a simple and engaging manner,
training to improve public speaking skills, encouragement to develop leadership
qualities, and the foundation for future financial responsibility.
D. Swapna, Co-Founder of Weal Academy, who
is also a child psychologist, educator, and parenting coach, said:
“Today’s
children spend a significant amount of time in the digital world. However,
essential life skills such as managing money, developing a habit of saving, and
maintaining financial discipline are not taught comprehensively in schools. We
aim to fill that gap.”
By
participating in the event, children gained practical financial knowledge and
learned how to manage money wisely. They developed a deeper understanding of
the importance of saving and began cultivating habits that would help them plan
for their future. The opportunity to speak confidently on stage helped them
overcome stage fear and significantly improved their communication skills and
self-confidence. The event also strengthened their leadership abilities by
encouraging teamwork, responsibility, and decision-making.
Most
importantly, participating in a world record attempt became a proud achievement
that will remain a lifelong memory and inspire them to strive for greater
accomplishments in the future.

Financial Education Begins in Childhood
Financial
education is not a subject meant only for adults. When children are taught the
value of money, the importance of saving, planned spending, and responsible
financial decision-making from an early age, they are far more likely to grow
into financially responsible and independent citizens. The Finance Talkathon
conducted by Weal Academy stands as a meaningful step toward building a
financially aware and empowered future generation.
