‘Insurance for All by 2047; IRDAI launched Bima
Sugam website..!
The Insurance Regulatory & Development
Authority of India (IRDAI) Chairman, Mr. Ajay Seth, unveiled the official
website of the Bima Sugam India Federation (BSIF) https://bimasugam.co.in at
the IRDAI headquarters in Hyderabad. Industry leaders, senior IRDAI officials,
and the Bima Sugam leadership team attended the event.

Bima Sugam is a digital platform that will enable
investors to buy, renew, port and make claim requests completely online of all
insurance companies. It will bring customers, insurers, and intermediaries
together on one digital platform.
The platform is part of the Bima Trinity, with the
other two parts being Bima Vahak and Bima Vistaar. The launch marks the first
step in building India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for insurance. The
initiative supports the national vision of “Insurance
for All by 2047” and the mission of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The rollout will take place in phases, ensuring
high levels of security, compliance, and scalability. Real transactions will
start in the coming months as insurers and partners complete system
integration.
Mr. Ajay Seth, Chairman, IRDAI, spoke on the launch: “Bima Sugam
represents a critical step towards creating India’s Digital Public
Infrastructure for insurance. This initiative will empower policyholders,
deepen insurance penetration, and ensure transparency and fairness across the
value chain. The launch of the website today is an important milestone, and I
am confident that with collective industry commitment, the vision of ‘Insurance
for All by 2047’—as part of the Prime Minister’s mission of Viksit Bharat
2047—will become a reality.”
