Chennai’s
Dr. Issa Fathima Jasmine Honoured at Adani Presents The Amazing Indians Awards
2025
Chennai, August 11, 2025:
Times Now, India’s leading English news channel, hosted the Amazing Indians
Awards 2025 presented by Adani in New Delhi, celebrating the indomitable spirit
of 13 exceptional individuals whose courage, determination, and selfless
actions have inspired change and left a lasting impact on many lives.
In the Food Management and
Nutrition category, Dr. Issa Fathima Jasmine from Chennai was honoured for her
extraordinary efforts to tackle hunger and food waste with empathy-led
solutions. A practicing orthodontist, Dr. Jasmine chose to dedicate her life
beyond clinics to issues of hunger, dignity, and quiet change.
In 2017, she founded
Ayyamittu Unn, a community fridge initiative under The Public Foundation. What
began with one fridge has grown into a movement that has served over 20 lakh
meals. Her journey as a social worker is rooted in lived compassion witnessing
hunger not as statistics, but as stories and choosing to respond not with
charity, but with care, consistency, and quiet, systemic action.
