Now (2015, September) Interest subsidy is
applicable from academic year 2009-10 and is available for those students who
availed Education loan from 1.4.2009.
Full interest subsidy during the period of
moratorium ie. course period plus one
year or six (6) month after getting job will be available.
The benefits of the Scheme would be applicable to
those students belonging to EWS (economically weaker Sections) with an annual
gross parental / family income upper limit of Rs.4.50 lacs per year from all
sources.
Relief was given to those who were sanctioned /
disbursed educational loans upto 31.3.2009 and outstanding as on 31.12.2013 was
considered last year. As such no relief will be available NOW for those who
availed loan in 2008.
