eBay India expands its product offerings: Unveils‘eBay Choices’
to offer New, Refurbished and Used products on www.ebay.in

India, the online marketplace with over 30 million product listings,has further strengthened its product offering through ‘eBay
Choices.’ Consumers will now be able to log onto www.ebay.in and choose from a variety of New, Refurbished and
Used products available on eBay India.
eBay India has tied up with top organized refurbishers
of India to meet the growing demand of shoppers for variety and product
availability at various price points. As part of eBay Choices, there will be
over 1000 live listings of refurbished mobile phones, laptops and tablets. Over
a period of time, other refurbished items like TV,
Refrigerators and white goods will be added on the platform.
E-commerce
in India has seen a significant upsurge in the number of people shopping online
and it is expected that by 2016, there will be over 100 million buyersin India.
eBay Choices will enable refurbishers to reach online
shoppers across 4556 ecommerce hubs in India, many of whom, may not have been
accessible, due to constraints of physical presence by
organisedrefurbishers.
Mr. Latif Nathani, Vice
President &Managing Director, eBay India said, “Offering buyers unlimited variety at various
price points has been the core proposition of eBay globally for nearly 20
years. Through eBay Choices, we will now offer the Indian consumer a similar
proposition and an opportunity to buy the same product at different price
points i.e. New, Refurbished or Used.”

refurbished goods on our platform but also build trust and awareness around the
segmentby offering products from Certified
Refurbished Partnersonly,” added Mr Nathani.
eBayIndia
will ensure that all refurbished products being listed on the platform have
been scanned for defects and functioning issues before being retailed. Besides
the refurbished products will also be certified and tested before being listed.The
refurbishers will also assistbuyers in providing three, six or twelve month’s
manufacturer / seller warranty, during which a buyer can reach to the certified
partner’s service centres across India.
Currently of
the total live listing in Mobile Phones, Laptops and Tablets category, 90% is
new and 10% refurbished / used. Over the next one year, the platform will not
only see 20% increase in total listings in these categories, but also see a
change in the mix: 80% new and 20% refurbished / used.
