Cybercity Builders & Developers Pledges support to “Mission Kakatiya”

Cybercity Builders & Developers Pvt Limited pledges support to  “Mission Kakatiya”

Undertakes drive to clean & maintain “Kamuni Cheruvu Lake “

Cybercity Builders & Developers Pvt Limited has pledged its support to “Mission Kakatiya” (by Government of Telangana) and will be undertaking the task to clean & maintain the “Kamuni Cheruvu” lake near Balanagar in Hyderabad.

As a part of the initiative Cybercity Builders & Developers Pvt Ltd. will take primary steps to protect Kamuni Cheruvu Lake and make it clean and beautiful for residents to relax and enjoy.

Cybercity will also align with consultants from Mumbai & Bengaluru to support them in cleaning & maintenance and lake management.

Cybercity has already started working on an action plan for lake protection and will start the work on lake once the process is completed and handed over to them by Government.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Venu Vinod, Managing Director, Cybercity Builders & Developers Pvt Ltd said:  At Cybercity it’s been our endeavour to provide our residents a serene and peaceful environment with world class infrastructure. As an extension of this philosophy we are extending our wholehearted support to Mission Kakatiya by Government of Telangana. As a part of the mission we are extremely pleased to adopt “Kamuni Cheruvu” near Balanagar Mandal. As we are aware that most of the lakes in Hyderabad & Telangana are facing extinction and are badly polluted. We have come forward to join the Government of Telangana in this noble initiative and are committed to take the necessary steps to clean and maintain “Kamuni Cheruvu” and ensure that the people in the vicinity of the lake enjoy the tranquility of the lake in a clean and hospitable environment.”

Government of Telangana has taken up the massive programme of restoring all the 46,531 minor irrigation sources under the name "Mission Kakatiya" (mana ooru-mana cheruvu) through community involvement. With increasing water pollution and negligence by industries and people the water bodies including lakes, tanks etc are becoming unfit for human use and fast becoming source of infection. Cleaning India's fresh water bodies is critical and needs to be done on a war footing. All the water bodies are being converted into sewer drains and dumpyards. This has to change and the society needs to understand the significance of conserving these water bodies. The Telangana Government has earmarked an ambitious project to complete the restoration of all the tanks in next five years.
