TiECON Chennai 2014, the renowned, mega
entrepreneurial event witnessed a grand celebration of the Entrepreneurs Awards
Nite, as the winners in different categories were honoured for their
accomplishments and contributions to the society. TiE Chennai announced the
winners for different categories at a stunning event in the presence of
industry leaders and successful entrepreneurs from across the country.
TiECON Chennai 2014 Awards Nite was attended
by a veritable who's who of Chennai's business and entrepreneurial circles,
including established business leaders, well-known first generation
entrepreneurs, start-ups, C level executives, etc., who appreciated the
exclusive and unique platform that TiE Chennai had created. It offered them an
opportunity to interact with the entrepreneurial community and related
communities like VC’s, Angel Investors, Regulators, Bankers, etc.

The Lifetime achievement award was given by Mr CV Sankar, IAS, Industries Secretary, Govt of
TamilNadu and Chairman of TiECON Awards Jury
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan, President, TiE
Chennai said; “I take immense pleasure in congratulating all the winners of
this year’s TiECON Chennai event. As we celebrate the seventh edition, I am

Mr CV Sankar, IAS, Industries Secretary, Govt of
TamilNadu and Chairman of TiECON Awards Jury, said, “Young minds
always make a remarkable difference in any society. With a right mentoring
platform, they would create and build successful and thriving entrepreneurial
ventures across geographies. Tamil Nadu stands second in the country in terms
of the Gross State Domestic Product. With a huge manufacturing and services
sector, the GoTN’s Vision 2023 Document provides a doable road map for boosting
the State’s economy. I am happy to see
that TiE Chennai has been giving tremendous support to the budding
entrepreneurs of the State who are a key to the State’s success.”
Mr Chetan Korada, India's only prosthetics race car driver and budding
entrepreneur, gave a truly, inspiring message which vibrantly echoed this
year’s theme ‘I Can Do It’, thereby imbibing the true
entrepreneurial, never say die spirit.

Committee, while
congratulating the winners, explained the entire award process and expressed
the tremendous satisfaction felt by the Awards Committee in evaluating the
innovative businesses emerging from Tamil Nadu. While analyzing data from over
2000 companies with the support from Deloitte, our knowledge partner and
Venture Intelligence, Research Partner, the committee felt the quality of
entrepreneurship witnessed augurs well for Tamil Nadu's future.
