Realty Plus Excellence Awards 2013: Winners of West India announced in Mumbai..!

To acknowledge the extraordinary contributions &  efforts of various real estate stakeholders in creating and delivering new benchmarks for excellence in the realty domain in the year gone by, Realty Plus, India’s leading real estate magazine from the exchange4media group, announced the winners of ‘Realty Plus Excellence Awards 2013- West’ at Hotel Trident, Mumbai on recently.

This is the 3rd time when the awards were held in the city of Mumbai, post dividing 3 zones for the awards, namely South, West & North. After the grand success of the Bangalore event recently, the Realty Plus Conclave and Excellence Awards (West) received an overwhelming response from real estate fraternity in Mumbai.

Large number of developers, architects and other industry professional gathered to witness the much-awaited event of real estate industry.

The morning conclave began with keynote address by mr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Co- Founder & Managing Director, Hiranandani Construction & president of Indian Merchants’ Chambers. The speech was followed by unveiling of a special coffee table book on India’s Top 100 Developers, brought out by Realty Plus.

The first plenary session, Redevelopment: Resurrecting to a New Standard of Living, deliberated upon the need of redevelopment in Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The panelists included Mr. Gaurav Gupta, Director, Omkar Realtors & Developers;  Ms. Neera Adarkar, Housing Activist & Conservationist; Mr. Vinod Sampat, Advocate & Property Expert; Mr.Anil Rathod, Deputy Engineer-Redevelopment Cell, MHADA; Mr. Diipesh Bhagtani, Exec. Director, Jaycee Homes; Mr. Ravi Ahuja, Executive Director, Cushman & Wakefield India, and Mr. Sunil Mantri, Chairman & Mananging Director, Mantri Realty.

The second session, New Dimensions in Real Estate Marketing focused on the new-age marketing strategies & communication skills of developers. The enlightening discussion encompassed marketing-related issues like the disconnect between promotional campaigns by developers & homebuyers and effectiveness of schemes like 80:20 and concessions on taxes.

The eminent panelists included Mr.Bharat Dhuppar, Chief Marketing Officer, Omkar Realtors & Developers; Mr. Chetan Narain, Chief Executive, Mr. Narain Corp; Karthik Sundarajoo, MD, CG Werks, Singapore; Mr. Kalpesh Shah, President, NAR -Mumbai and Santosh Naik, Managing Director, Disha Direct Marketing Services.

The third session, Raising the FSI Bar: Challenges in Vertical Growth, illuminated the audience with the co-relation between low floor space index (FSI) and stalled growth of housing segment in Mumbai. The discourse was primarily focused on whether high FSI is conducive to the ecosystem of the city and the need of better infrastructure to facilitate vertical growth. The panelists included in this session were Mr. V Suresh, Director- Project Companies, HIRCO & Former Director, HUDCO; Mr. Ramesh Nair, MD - West, JLL;  Mr. Boman Rustom Irani, CMD, Rustomjee; Mr. Rahul Pande, Deputy Urban Planner-SRA Cell, MMRDA and Mr. Ani Ray, MD, Arabian Contruction Company India.

The last plenary session on Smart Developments - Creating sustainable habitats through Smart Growth saw panelists emphasising that simply making green buildings are not enough, but home-seekers also need not be encouraged to ‘Live Green.’

 The speakers at the session included  Mr. Tejwant Nawalkar, Director, DFX Systems; Mr. Gurmit Singh, Vice-Chairman, Indian Green Building Council - Mumbai Chapter; Mr. Dinabandhu Patra Founder & MD, Across & Beyond, Development Consultancy; Mr. Nilesh Jadhav, Inventor & Founder, INPOD; Mr. Ashish Shah, Head-Strategy & Business Development, The Wadhwa Group.

The conclave culminated in the celebration of excellence in the realty domain as the proud winners of Realty Plus Excellence Awards 2013 for the West zone were announced during a star-studded awards night attended by a galaxy of developers, policy-makers, industry officials, business leaders, financial experts, investment advisors, retailers, facilities managers, architects and other luminaries.

The awardees were chosen after a rigorous selection out of the real estate developers from the Western India.

The 27 different award categories acknowledged the efforts of the who’s who of the Indian realty sector for their outstanding achievements in developing real estate and infrastructure facilities and promoting state- of-the-art designs and architecture.

The eminent jury for Realty Plus Excellence Awards 2013 was chaired by Mr. Anshuman Magazine, Chairman and Managing Director (South Asia), CBRE.  The other Jury members included Mr. Sachin Sandhir, MD & Country Head, RICS; Prof PSN Rao, Head, Housing, SPA & Chairman, NAR (India); Dr P S Rana, Former Chairman and MD, HUDCO; Mr. Pankaj Kapoor, MD, Liases Foras;  Mr. Daksh Bharadwaj, Principal Architect, Bharadwaj Bharadwaj & Associates; Mr. Om Chaudhary, Executive Director, Fire Capital and Mr. Vinod Behl, Editor, Realty Plus.
