World Patient Safety Day - 25 July

Mission:  Offer hope, healing & advocacy for safe healthcare - Today & Everyday

Vision:  Save lives &reduce healthcare costs through elimination of preventable medical errors & harm.

 Since the year 2001, throughout the world in the annual Patient Safety Day observance on July 25th. 

Upon last count, patients,families, providers & consumer groups and many countries have participated in the Patient Safety Day moment of silence& candlelight vigil; in tribute to those who work to improve the safety & quality of healthcare for future patients - in memory of patients and families who have lost their life or quality of life due to medical error harm. 

 Patient Safety Day is a time to embrace life, loss, change & hope; a day that gives everyone a moment of silence to reflect and join in a shared vision of safer healthcare & a shared moment to honor the lives of all patients and families affected by medical error harm and those whose work contributed to safer, quality patient care.

U.S. Congressmen, State Senators & State House Representatives, Assemblymen, Governors, Mayors, City Councilmembers and other politicians and governmental entities within the U.S. & equal global partners are continuing to demonstrate visionary and compassionate leadership through their support of Patient Safety Day; as are patients, families, medical, nursing, pharmacy & other provider disciplines in many other countries who have and continue to join in support of World, Global, National Patient Safety Day July 25th.

NEW 2012:  Representatives from three additional countries have recognized and joined in support of Patient Safety Day on July 25th:  Pakistan, Nigeria & Japan
