Uniform Carpet Area : 83% Indian Developers Agreed

The CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India) -Jones Lang LaSalle’s (JLL's) Indian Real Estate Transparency Index 2011 was recently released.

In the survey conducted as inputs to the report, 83% real estate developers agreed that there should be a uniform carpet area / saleable area definition across India, 3% disagreed and 14% weren’t sure on this point.

Highlights of CREDAI - JLL survey
# Another survey question a whopping 97% developers agreed that they intend to provide actual measurements for calculating saleable area and carpet area.

# Another one interesting issue where 93% developers expressed their intent  to quote rates that are “all inclusive” of other charges.

# Only 69% developers agreed that they intend to provide a full disclosure of approvals, sale and pricing of their projects to the buyers, 14% said they don’t even have the intention, while 17% chose to remain undecided.

# The only 69% developers only intend to provide these documents and almost a third of developers are sure that they can not provide these to buyers.
